Next, you will find a description of the interior painting warranty and workmanship guarantee included in the bid. Additionally, you’ll find our interior paint product recommendations. We typically recommend using quality paint from Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore for fantastic results. However, we can accommodate alternative paint material preferences like Farrow and Ball, PPG, or Behr.
These days, you don’t have to sacrifice quality for safety when choosing interior paint. Accordingly, we use Low-VOC or No-VOC interior paint to reduce paint fumes and keep your family safe. Likewise, our crews use eco-friendly acrylic latex paint products that are better for the environment. We are making it our priority to go green as a painting company. Certainly, we hope the rest of the industry follows suit.
Do painters typically wash walls before painting?
If you already have paint colors chosen, you’ll find those listed as well. If not, we make it easy to find the perfect paint color for your home interior.
Lastly, you’ll find an outline of what to expect before, during, and after your interior painting project begins. Additionally, scheduling details may be included if you have a specific timetable.

Price Transparency and Peace Of Mind Come Standard
As shown above, transparency is key with any interior home painting job. Each quote outlines your project extensively to avoid any surprises down the line.
Notwithstanding, all interior painting work is covered by Improovy’s $2,000,000 liability insurance policy and full Workers Comp coverage. This also includes full bonding and all state-specific licensing requirements for painting contractors. Lastly, we carry EPA lead certification if required for your job.
Moreover, we perform background checks on our painting crews. Hence, you can trust that your painters are fully vetted. Likewise, each professional painter comes with at least 5 years of experience. That is in addition to having all the equipment and tools to provide excellent quality work.
As shown above, your peace of mind is incredibly important to us. We believe that quality service starts with constant communication and a transparent painting process. This is true whether you are painting the entire house interior or just a few rooms.

Where Do Your Interior Painting Prices Fall?
Improovy’s interior paint pricing is usually the lowest of the largest 3 painting companies in the area. However, we will cost more than a local handyman.
This is because we carry full liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage. The latter is not common in small residential painting companies. If a painter gets injured at your home, your homeowner’s insurance will not cover it. This is more important than a huge liability policy, as there is not that much we can damage in a home. Injuries often cost far more.
We’ve been doing this long enough to know what to charge to make sure everyone in the process wants to do a great job. A painter can be tempted to rush an interior project or potentially skip on prep if we cut pricing. This is simply not a situation we want for our customers or workers.
All in all, we believe that fair pricing and peace of mind should both come standard with every interior painting project. With Improovy, what you see is what you get.

Interior Residential Painting FAQs
Which is the best color for interior house painting?
The best color for interior house painting is Pure White by Sherwin Williams. This warmer off-white interior paint color is popular among homeowners across the US. It is also extremely versatile. Pure White can be used in any interior room or surface with stunning results.
How long will it take to paint my home's interior?
The average time it takes to paint a home interior is 3 days. Of course, this depends on what rooms and surfaces are being painted. Day 1 typically focuses on prep work like covering furniture, patching walls, and spot priming drywall. Day 2 is spent cutting in trim and applying the first coat. Finally, a paint crew applies a second coat and performs a cleanup of the work area on day 3.
What are some of the largest residential painting companies in the United States?
The largest residential painting companies in the United States include CertaPro Painters, Wow1Day, Five Star Painting, 360 Painting, and Fresh Coat. All of which operate as independent franchises with locations across the country. There are also larger painting companies that focus on commercial painting like Paintzen (acquired by PPG Paints). The fastest-growing painting company in the USA is Improovy which operates as an on-demand painting service that specializes in residential repaints.
How do I calculate how much interior paint I need?
One gallon of interior paint will cover up to 400 square feet of walls. Plan for at least two coats of paint for any wall color change. So to DIY paint a standard 12x12 room, you will need at least two gallons assuming you are changing colors. Nonetheless, when you hire an interior painter like Improovy, all paint is included in your flat rate quote.
What type of interior paint is best?
The best interior paint to use is Ben by Benjamin Moore or SuperPaint by Sherwin-Williams and here's why. Virtually all paint manufacturers have bad, good, better, and best paints. Given that, what we look at is the drying thickness. This is measured in something calls "mils." To start, most low-level paints will dry at 0.7 mills thickness. These paints cost us around $20 a gallon.
Next, go a few levels up to $30 a gallon paints. These dry at 1.4 mills thickness or twice the thickness! Indeed, this is a tremendous value and why we use interior paint that falls in this category. Lastly, you can go to the highest cost of $120 a gallon. Most of these interior paints dry at 1.5 mills thickness. That's a 6% increase in thickness for a 400% increase in cost. In our opinion, premium paints like this are not worth it for most indoor paint jobs.
How many coats will I need for my interior painting project?
There are two considerations in how many coats of interior paint you need, coverage and protection. For most interior painting brands, it is rare that you'll have good coverage with one coat so we always include two. If a painting contractor recommends one, they'll likely surprise you with a new charge to do a second coat after the job begins.
Now for exterior paint jobs, we can color match and often get away with good coverage with one coat. However, we always recommend two coats since your home needs protection from the elements. Indeed, two coats of paint will last longer, look better, and will be more cost-effective in the long run. The cost of a second coat is approximately 50% of the cost of the first coat. As you can imagine, this is a huge costs savings versus having to paint one coat again in 7 years.
